EQOS Energie strengthens its industrial business

2. July 2020
  • New corporate location in Koppl near Salzburg
  • Based on an asset deal, EQOS Energie now covers the entire industry automation
  • Comprehensive infrastructure portfolio secures jobs and strengthens the region

On 1 July 2020, the internationally active infrastructure service provider EQOS Energie took over the operating and business equipment of the insolvent company AML Elektrotechnik GmbH based in Koppl near Salzburg as part of an asset deal. Within this asset deal, EQOS Energie not only hired the complete staff most recently employed by AML Elektrotechnik but also established a new operating facility in the Salzburg region, which will serve to better explore this region in the future. EQOS Energie, which specialises in the sectors of energy, telecommunications and railway traffic, is active in five European countries with almost 30 locations. With this acquisition, the company not only vigorously continues its expansion initiative in the Austrian market but also broadens its previous service portfolio in energy technology by adding the area of manufacturing automation. In the future, EQOS Energie will therefore be able to completely cover automation of industrial facilities and forcefully advance infrastructure projects in the Salzburg region – first and foremost in energy technology.

Eric Mendel, chairman of the board and CEO of EQOS Energie:

“We are very happy about this acquisition of our Energy Technology division in Austria. Our new colleagues will enable us to establish and build our activities in the Salzburg region and to further strengthen our position in the market.”

Complete service portfolio based on manufacturing automation

Apart from switchgear construction and high-voltage technology, the company has been offering building automation for industrial customers in Linz and process automation in Hamburg. With the staff formerly employed at AML, the company is now increasingly acquiring manufacturing automation knowledge. In this respect AML’s activities around the planning and installation of solutions for hardware and switchboard construction including software as well as commissioning and lifecycle support fit seamlessly into the energy technology portfolio of EQOS Energie, thereby rounding out the company’s industrial business.

“The three units in our Energy Technology divisions ideally complement each other,” Mendel said. “Manufacturing automation provides us with new opportunities behind the ‘yellow line’. Starting immediately, we can also offer manufacturing automation from our Salzburg location. To the previous customers of AML Elektrotechnik, we offer process and building automation based on our expanded portfolio. Of course, all of this will be done with EQOS Energie’s usual expertise and highest quality,” Mendel added and announced that EQOS Energie will continue to be on the lookout for interesting business fields and companies in Austria and Germany to continually pursue the company’s growth agenda.
